At the University of Amsterdam I coordinate/teach educational content on all levels. In addition to coordinating and lecturing, I also supervise approximately 10 (under)graduate students per year with their thesis projects for different Ba & MSc tracks.
Please note that I am on sabbatical leave during the first semester of the 2026–27 academic year and will not be able to respond to teaching-related enquiries during this period.
COURSES
The courses I currently have an active part in organising/teaching:
- Clinical Psychology & Neuropsychology: Part B (year 1)
- Clinical Neuropsychology: Neuropsychological Research (year 2; Dutch only)
- The Empathic Brain (Amsterdam University College)
In addition I provide individual lectures within other courses on autism, psychosis & supervise workgroups on neuropsychological assessments.
SUPERVISION
I commonly supervise theses within the BSc Psychobiology, MSc Clinical Neuropsychology , MSc Psychology (research), and MSc Brain & Cognitive Sciences (research). Prospective UvA students should contact the relevant course coordinator, as thesis-project allocation is organised through the designated coordinators. Places are subject to availability and fit with ongoing research projects.
External students are welcome to enquire, but UvA students receive priority for available supervision places.
Prospective PhD students: In the Netherlands, a PhD position is generally a salaried position with a formal employment contract rather than a student placement. Opportunities are normally advertised as vacancies (e.g., check Academic Transfer).
Unsolicited expressions of interest are welcome where they closely align with my research interests, but should always include a CV, a genuine statement of research interests and how they fit with mine, and (if possible) a funding plan.
